One bright and sunny morning Candice and I decided we should go to Hanmer. So we packed up the car (towels and bathing suits, or toggs as the kiwis call them) and set out on the open road. Hanmer is about an hour and a half north of the city, starting to get into the mountains. There's not a heck of a lot there but there are hot springs - and that is why most people go there - but the hot springs are pretty nice. I have heard that there are some nice walks as well but I have only ever seen the hotsprings (and the corner store for ice cream).
The drive was beautiful, and I was very excited to see proper mountains again.
