Okay, I do realize this blog has been a bit (or completely) neglected, but it was working on this or the homework, and sadly homework won out (well, let's be honest, friends and tv also won out). I also haven't had any pictures to put up... until now. :)Here are some pictures of a couple of weekends ago when I went to Spalding with Jacky and Becca. Spalding is about 2 hours east of Saskatoon, and Jacky had to go home to speak at her church that weekend about her upcoming trip to Amsterdam, so we all figured, why not make it a roadtrip! Becca and I got the best small town experience! Friday night we went to the community fall supper (perogies and turkey dinner... mmmmm), Saturday morning we had the privelidge of going to the town flea market (I actually don't think that's what it's called, as it only happens every once in a while, but that's kind of what it was). The rest of Saturday was spent doing homework (even in Spalding we felt the looming pressure of deadlines), although in the evening we did go to a hockey game... yes, that's right - I, like a good canadian girl, sat in the cold rink and watched a hockey game... well truth be told, we sat inside, watching it from up top for the first period, sat actually in the arena area for the second period, and left for the third. While we were there Jacky's parents treated us so great - every meal made for us (SUCH GOOD home cooking!) and her mom even sent us each home with a whole roasted chicken, a bag of frozen corn, a bag of strawberries, a container of soup and a squash! Mmmmm... food I didn't have to buy or make myself... Truly appreciated! Here are the pics...

Waiting in line at Starbucks... it's not a road trip without coffee!

It's also not a roadtrip without stopping to take pictures with giant things... in this case - giant tire man (and his smaller tire man friend)

Okay, apparenlty my last statement isn't so true - I'm not so smart, as I can't figure out how to put all these pics in with the last blog. I can only assume that it's the blogger website and restictions on sizes of each entry and not me... :) yes, we will go with that....

The weekend before I came back to Saskatoon, Karena, Joyce and I went camping at Dash Point State Park. I know, I know... you've never heard of it - the border crossing guy hadn't either, and he lives down there! Anyways, it's between Seattle and Tacoma, in Federal Way - on the ocean (kind of). I think the border guy thought we were a bit crazy, or at least just a bunch of dumb girls who had never gone camping before - no food, had no idea where we were going, thought Mt. St. Helen's was close... haha... well we survived and had a great time! This is the sunset from Dash Point

I'm actually getting the hang of this whole blog thing, uploading pictures and such like...I'm so smart... S-M-R-T. :) Anyways, here are a few more pics from the summer... someday maybe I'll put up some of S'toon, but it's not that exciting so it will have to wait for a day when I REALLY don't feel like studying (like now, but have deadlines to meet so I must get on with it...)

Well, this is where I spent most of my summer - "working" (hehe) at Hallmark Assisted Living....

Jayne, me, Joyce, Dale

Yes, that's right - the talented Dale and Amy won the best original dessert... quite the dissapointment to the kitchen at Hallmark Independent Living - they were the ones who challenged us, and so assuredly thought they would win! Hahaha... Posted by Picasa

The Gorge, WA

Melissa and I biked the Vancouver Sea Wall one day... the WHOLE thing - over to UBC and back... took about five and a half hours, but was so fun! No pics of us on our bikes (I think that's a good thing!)

Okay, here it is - my first blog! I actually don't care to admit that I am a blogger, perhap only for the reason that I don't write well, and figure my life is not exciting enough to merit a blog. Mostly for that reason I will be using this as a way to post pictures (because who doesn't love to look at pictures?..of me?..and others...). For now that is what I will do. Perhaps once my life consists of more exciting tales (rather than today I went to class, went to work and studied... yesterday I went to class, went to work, and avoided studying... that's more likely) I will write more... who knows... maybe something will strike a chord and I'll feel I need to let it out... you never know! But for now enjoy the pictures of my summer back in BC and other random pics!

Hanging out in Surrey for the Canada celebration. Tom Cochrane and Chilliwack performed... Apparently Tom's only good song is Life is a Highway, cuz the rest of the time we had to entertain ourselves with taking pictures!

Aarrrr....Becca and I getting ready to take Karena on a pirate boat ride (aka - ride in fishtrap creek/swamp in a dinghy with a homemade pirate flag attached to a broomstick and me singing the pirates of the caribbean themesong and randomly saying "aaarrrrr matey") for her birthday treasure hunt (same day Pirates of the Caribbean came out - she's a big fan)
